Islamabad: With the increase in the heat intensity, the power shortfall also increased. According to the sources of Power Division, the shortfall of electricity has become 5 thousand 38 MW.
The total production of electricity is 20 thousand 652 MW and the demand is 26 thousand MW. A total of 5 thousand 234 megawatts of electricity is being generated from hydropower sources.
Government thermal power plants are generating 1,854 megawatts of electricity, while private sector power plants are generating 11,284 megawatts.
Power division sources further say that 2 thousand 148 megawatts of electricity is being generated from the nuclear power plant. Wind power plants are generating 984 MW of electricity. 148 MW of electricity is being produced from Begas.
