Former Indian cricket team player Gautam Gambhir has criticized some specific players for making them stars.
Gautam Gambhir termed India’s defeat by Australia in the Test Championship as shameful and said that certain players in the cricket team are heavily promoted. Players even advertise pan spices for money and don’t realize their status.
The former Indian cricketer further said that all the stakeholders of the Indian Cricket Board, including the media, keep promoting only a few cricketers and that is why they become stars.
He further said that some players in India have become bigger than the team. In other countries national teams are given importance but in India people are crazy about few players instead of the team.
Gautam Gambhir said that broadcasters and media have become PR companies of few players. If you show three players again and again, they will become stars.
